OPEN CALL for SARDAM festival’s 7th Edition in October 2019!
Application deadline: 31st January 2019!
Addressed to writers, writers-performers and other artists working with words/texts, from Cyprus and abroad!
Send:
a) a short bio in english and/or greek (max 250 words, paragraph style)
b) a photo (in high resolution)
c) a writing or word-related sample in english and/or greek (poem, short story, novel excerpt, flash fiction, experimental text, visual writing, sound poem, word collage, video, artwork etc.)
d) a link/video of one of your readings or literary performances (including sound poetry acts, collaborations with other artists, installations etc.)
* we no longer accept descriptions of videopoems/videotexts but only the actual proposed videopoems/videotexts
e) a website or other link which includes more info about you and your work (optional)
f) a short description of your proposal for SARDAM 2019

*Please describe in detail how you plan to present your work and whether you will cooperate with another writer, artist or other professional. If you are proposing a collaboration, also send a short bio, a photo and work samples or links of your collaborator(s). The festival may also propose collaborators from Cyprus for selected acts.

An applicant may apply for either 1 or max 2 categories from the above (in the same email, please do not send multiple e-mails).
Some applicants may be offered a place for SARDAM 2020 edition.
Priority will be given to applicants who haven’t participated in the festival’s previous editions.
The applications will be evaluated by a selection committee which will be announced at a later stage and will include writers and artists from Cyprus and abroad.
The results will be announced in Spring 2019.

SARDAM, meaning “verbal slip” in greek, is an annual “out of the box” literature festival based in Cyprus (founded in 2013). The festival presents the work of writers, writers-performers and other artists from Cyprus and abroad, through hybrid and interdisciplinary acts/collaborations. Including slam poetry, live readings with contemporary dance, videopoetry, interactive literary installations, sound poetry, visual poetry, site-specific readings and so on, SARDAM festival is open to any kind of literary experimentation. Besides presenting evenings full of alternative literary readings/performances in different cities of Cyprus, the festival also presents exciting creative writing and performance workshops, residencies, as well as parallel events.
